Our Secret Strategy- Exposed.

secret strategy
visible signs of progression are everywhere. does your strategy mirror progression?

Up until about 3-5 years ago, it was sufficient for a business to just have a website on the internet. In those golden years, even clunky html ‘tabled’ websites and WYSIWYG sites would get companies acceptable exposure in that unknown world of ‘interweb.’

In the past couple years, the hundreds of millions of new websites and clean coded ‘css’ sites have followed the natural progression in taking precedence in the eyes of Google. The new way to get exposure was to invest in the art of “Search Engine Optimizing” your website, so that Google and other relevant search engines would take favor of you.

What we are seeing now is an over saturation of both clean coded websites (open source code is quickly dominating the web and making it possible for even the most novice blogger to simply ‘plug and play.’) and tools that make SEO a breeze (it used to be such a mystery as to what exactly you were paying your SEO guy 400 bucks a month to do…). Even the new version of CS5 and the amazing plug-ins being developed by the WordPress community are giving world class SEO tools to everyone.

So welcome to the new age of web. Clean validated code is universal, tables and WYSIWYGs are a thing of the past, and SEO is no longer secret meta codes in headers or just sitemaps. Companies can no longer compete by using the old methods.

Those who make it in the future will be the ones supplying world class transparent information and advice about their products and services. This new concept takes something very few companies have actually claimed: information.

Its out there, its everywhere. Its being passed along in newsletters, emails, facebook pages, blogs, instant messages and is powering the consumer world. At Command Mass we see the art of optimizing, branding and claiming world class information as the next level of what companies are going to be competing for in this new age. Our strategy is to capture that transparent information through SEO, blogs, video, newsletters, branding, style, design and convert that into loyal conversation that will take place over your products and services. It’s not just about internet presence anymore, it’s about being the information giver in the information age.

Its time that ‘information’ works for you.

We Love Our Studio

labracadabra we love our studio
We Love Our Studio.

Our studio is a collaborative effort of some of the most talented individuals in the world (not a claim! We are convinced). It makes coming to work everyday an inspiration. Today we launched the new homepage; which in the future will showcase and broadcast information about various events we are having at the studio.

What we love most about our studio space is that it represents a focal point for community events and involvement. We have held fundraisers, movie nights, shows and in the future hope to continue to invite and grow our community of amazing people. After all, isn’t that what a Social Networking and Web Development Company should be about? Not just connected on the internet, but plugged in where it is most important: the community.

Bigger than our web development, bigger than the world class art adorning our walls, or the inspiring work of Sean Woolsey, Justin Bauer, and Jesi Haack, there is something great happening when everyone participates. So come be a part of it, our doors are always open.

Dear 31 Bits, We Love You.

31bits
the wonderful ladies at 31 Bits

31 Bits was started by four creative and innovative businesswomen in Orange County, CA. By combining their vision, creative drive and passion, these wonderful ladies built a fashionable business that provides desperate hope and financial independence to the women of war torn Uganda.

This is the type of transparency we are wild about at Command mass. When 31 Bits approached us looking for a comprehensive and ‘user-friendly’ eCommerce system to enable them to sell their products online, we had the expertise to make it happen; while designing it in such a way to accurately depict their companies brand, style and passion.

Since then, 31 Bits has partnered up with other businesses and organizations (most recently, Reef Sandals… you go girls!) to continue to raise awareness about their product and the dynamic hope they are bringing to the women in Uganda.

We cant talk enough about how much we love 31 Bits. Their vision, passion, and drive mixed with their growing and dynamic presence on the internet will no doubt make their brand and products world famous; while bringing hope and lasting change to an area of the world in desperate need.

Keep rocking ladies! In the near future 31 Bits envisions a partnership with local NGO’s to initiate and fund community based projects to directly benefit those in Uganda seeking hope and freedom. Command Mass will be right there making sure 31 Bits has an efficient eCommerce store front and a dynamic global presence on the internet. Is your company or brand ready to go global?

A Revolution is at Hand

The transparent revolution: the internet connects isolated incidents to create a new experience.

Those living during the French Revolution, the Industrial Revolution or the American Revolution didn’t awake each morning with an exhilarating realization that they were living through a vital time that would forever change the course of human progression. Rather they, like the majority of us, awoke each day to face their various tasks of day to day existence, oblivious to the dawning of new world eras. It was never until years later, historians and scholars could look back to discern that great global shifts of thought had occurred in relatively intense short periods of time. These periods would be labelled ‘revolutions.’

In the past ten years, an intensive shift in human thought has been occurring on a global scale. Rapidly and tirelessly it is revolutionizing the world and will forever change the way people connect. This new revolution is occurring while we sleep, while we go to work, and otherwise while we remain oblivious to the drastic new age upon us. What is this new age? It is the age of ultimate connection, awareness and transparency.

The internet represents something unlike anything else in the history of the world. At just an infant, it has already managed to overthrow just about every form of traditional interaction among humans. It has obliterated or severely crippled industries like the newspaper, mail, the telephone and will not stop until it has consumed the television and made its way into every part of our future lives. This is not speculation, but fact. For the internet’s backbone is a universal language built on electric bytes of information that are not just translatable into words- but objects, elements, conversations and experiences that can be converted on any corner of the globe. The result is transparency on a global scale.

The proof is visible all around us. The birth of social and globally conscious companies like TOM shoes, 31 bits (our new client!), and Invisible Children are just the start. The ability to feel suffering or happiness from another corner of the globe is as easy as opening a web browser from a bedroom desk.

The internet is not just a trend but the reason and drive behind our expanding consciousness and awareness of the world around us. At Command Mass we are well aware of the ‘revolution’ at hand and are leading the charge in ushering in a new age of transparency, awareness, and connectivity among business and consumers. We welcome all into this bright new era.

Claim Your Own.

“Claim your own at any hazard!
These shows of the east and west are tame, compared to you;
These immense meadows–these interminable rivers–you are immense and
interminable as they!” -Walt Whitman

Whether through our own individual global travels, our debates among learned men and women, our trials and errors or our own sacrifices, we have found ourselves able and capable of great things. There was glory in our triumphs, humility in our mistakes and a beautifully powerful feeling of how vulnerable, fleeting and special life is. In a sense, we have found we are as immense and interminable as the rivers and meadows we traverse upon… So, as Whitman instructs us, here is our claim:

We claim that we are the best, because we seek and demand the best in ourselves and those around us. We claim success and commitment to every client and every project because of the love and passion we have for our work. We claim that Command Mass will become a wealthy and profitable endeavor, because we make our clients wealthy and profitable first. We claim humility by improving on our mistakes. We see enough greatness and potential for everyone. We see new jobs and prosperity for those around us and we see the potential that happens when people live for things greater than themselves. We believe there is another trillion dollars up for grabs in economies yet to be born or developed from the technologies we are mastering. We believe our state, our nation, and the globe are entering new ages of awareness and wealth because of the social consciousness that has stemmed from a world of transparency. We see a newer mightier world, and we claim our own by seizing it.

So bring the best of yourself, your passion, and your commitment… and together lets change the world.

We are Command Mass.

The Precision of Thought

Mathematics brought form to the otherwise erratic motions of heavenly objects…

…and now in understanding the precision of human thought.

Mathematics prove the world and the universe we live in to be precise. We humans trust our calculations for mass and velocity so well, we put people in objects and blasted them towards a predictable soft-landing space on a hurling object 240,000 miles away (the moon). Mathematics teach and prove to us that the world and the stars above us are not just incalculable or random sets of complicated movements, but actually things we can predict, comprehend, and ultimately control.

The earliest principles of math probably developed as tools to understand the most primitive forms of commerce: arithmetic. If I traded a cow for two goats, a system of arithmetic had to be set in motion to understand the value of each asset. With the birth of land acquisition and private property, tools like geometry would be born as a means to measure the shape and dimension of surveyed land. Later, the enlightened thinkers would set out to understand the erratic and complicated motions of the heavenly bodies and planetary objects above us, this understanding would birth the mathematical principles of Calculus. Math has always been and will continue to always be a method to how we perceive the world and how we perceive our place in the world.

We believe another chapter is unfolding in the interplay between mathematics and how we understand our existence. Popular sciences like game theory, and social situation theory have all stated it as defining that human thought is not random, but a calculated and precise measure of the environment and circumstances around us. One of the most powerful proofs of this is the KeyWord Tracker Tool by Google, that actual tracks (and publishes) the quantity and quality of thoughts being searched upon from the 2 billion internet users daily. Apps like Pandora and Apple Genius are utilizing this power by undermining the syncopated rhythms of music, quantifying human thought and applying all that to an algorithm that can predict what new music you will be interested in. Our mathematics have gone beyond the understanding of objects in our universe and into understanding the precise and quantifiable thoughts in our heads.

The social power of the internet has allowed us the science, math and technology to embrace a whole new world of understanding others and ourselves. We think there has never been a greater time to exist, to be alive, and to ‘delve! build! mold!’ this new world we live in… that is the root of our passion, that is the root of why we love our work. At CommandMass, we believe marketing and development should thoroughly explore this new chapter of understanding.

Command the Mass: a Business Philosophy

Our philosophy is fused into every transaction or project we undertake. We believe passion, insight, the opening and sharing of ideas only improves the world we live in. We look for clients with world class advice and information, then build a global community of passionate followers that reflects it. In a way, we build up the ‘information givers’ in the information age. …And when the 2 billion internet users go looking for information about a service or product, it is yours they find. After all, isn’t that exactly what tools like Google have brought us? …The destruction of expensive traditional marketing campaigns and the rise of honest, trustworthy information that transparently connects potential customers to businesses. No amount of money in the world can buy out raw, pure and honest information… and as Search Engines continue to evolve and adapt with semantic technologies that are aware of this, it will only become more truthful.

It’s a huge undertaking, but nobody ever said changing the way the consumers connect to business worldwide was going to be easy. Command the Mass.

Fresh and strong the world we seize!’ -whitman

Secret To Getting Rich

I want to tell you about a tool that will forever change your life, make you rich, allow you to work your dream job and turn your world completely upside down… But first, let me explain. For the last 10 million years or so (ever since our most primitive ancestors began to chisel tools from washed up whale bones to build hunting sticks and shelter) information has been the most valuable asset to human survival in our world of scarce resources. The blacksmith or the mason would pass along their valuable trade secrets generation after generation only to their offspring to ensure the ‘job security’ of their family. Terms like ‘unhappy with my current career choices’ or ‘looking for a new job’ didn’t exist; you valued the few secrets you knew because without them you and your family would starve… Information (job skills, cooking skills, shelter building skills) kept people alive. Now fast forward to the world we live in today, and I want to introduce you to a tool that can give you all the information you need to achieve whatever you could ever want out of life. This tool not only contains almost every byte of information ever conceived in human thought, but it’s also giving it away for FREE. You might have heard of it: Google. For anyone interested in becoming whatever they want to become, Google has abolished any borders to entry. That’s right… want to become an artist? Google it. Want to start a business? Google it. I could go on all day but the point is clear: there is access to ALL THE WORLD’s INFORMATION STREAMING RIGHT INTO YOUR BEDROOM. Hello??? There is no excuse to hating your job or being unfulfilled, for the first time in history you have full open access to every bit of information that is going to make you an expert at whatever YOU want to be an expert at (and not whatever your family line gave you to be an expert at). Be your own business! Take what you love, write your own plan, google how to build a website for yourself, google how to be your own accountant, google ideas to market your product, google consumer information, google to find people to help… Feeling a lack of confidence or security? google tips to build self-confidence. Feeling lack of motivation or amibition? google tips to get you going… I could go on, but you get the point. There is no argument, there is no excuse… for the first time in human history we actually live in an age where if you want something all you have to do is reach out and grab it (literally).

“This goes out to all my people starting businesses, doing what you love.” -new dork

…Oh yes, and having a social group to turn to is important to… You are always welcome to come to the studio to share inspiration, ideas, etc. Let’s build all sorts of million dollar businesses and party on a boat with P.Diddy next summer. Welcome to the brightest moment in human history.

The ‘Semantic’ Brain

semantic brain, semantic search engine optimization
google crawls through information like your brain does

Our brains possess the mysterious and powerful capability to ‘crawl’ through our own experiences, knowledge, observations and awarenesses to produce a final outcome or product. As Google continues to grow into the Semantic Brain that it is becoming, it is ‘learning’ the capabilities to crawl through our ‘collective’ experiences, knowledges, observations, etc.. (you get the point). The same way I could ask you to think of all the homes you have ever seen and which was your favorite- is the same way Google is asked, every time we enter a search query…. You, might think back on your Grandmother’s old house, or the place you rented by the beach last summer, etc… Regardless your brain would dig through say a couple hundred rather quickly and subconsciously before jumping to the conclusion that your favorite was the time you saw that mansion in the Hampton’s. Google works the same way: you input a search query and it scours the globe in less than a second analyzing every byte of information that could potentially work for you- and then categorizing them from first place to last place. What I am getting at here is this: if you are a business, you need to be best friends with Google.

Does Google ever think of you?

It’s a Language… Not Code.

code language
it’s much more than ‘code’

We at CMDmass are enormously passionate about our (X)HTML, CSS, php, and the countless ‘div’ classes and id’s they fall in… If you were to come on by in the early hours of the morning (why are all coders nocturnal???) You’d here the rapid ‘taps’ of typing usually accompanied by the latter 90′s beats of Tupac, Biggie Smalls, and sometimes the D.R.E. In fact we love our scripts so much that they are a language to us, not code… Isn’t that what all these scripts really are? A universal ‘hyper text’ language that can be run through any browser on the face of the Earth and still be interpreted the same…? in a way, these ‘languages’ define the first time in human history that we have invented a world-wide global communication device that is not just limited to communicating text- but pictures, elements, objects, designs- universally to any corner of this spinning globe… We’ve opted to make a movement at CMDmass to eradicate the term ‘code.’ It’s a language, and a very powerful one at that.

Is your business speaking our language?
